なんだか今年は雪の多いスタートですが、風邪などひいていませんか？
昨日は、私が所属している勉強会の定期例会の１日でした。色々な先生方にお会いし、５月から参加予定のコースの先生ともお会いすることが出来ました。
また、昔の勤務先の仲間や、先輩たちとお話することも出来、勉強会＋αの部分でも収穫の多い一日となりました。
この日は、５年間理事をされていた先生の記念講演や、衛生士さんや技工士さんのセミナーがありました。

勉強会に参加する意味、などについてお話をされていましたが、臨床で悩んでいることを話し合う場であり、また、臨床で得たよい技術やちょっとしたヒント、失敗から学ぶことなどを話し合う場であるとおっしゃっていました。
私は、歯医者になって１年目の右も左もわからない頃から、この勉強会に参加しています。当時わからなかった言葉や、方法、なぜこの結果に至ったのかという過程すらわからなかったことを思うと、年月を重ねて、自分で経験してみたことでわかったこともたくさんあります。でも、参加して帰り道にはいつも、まだまだだ・・と思いながら、何か、「歯科医師としての情熱」みたいなものを、充電させてもらったように感じています。

歯科の世界も日進月歩で、材料や手技、手法は昔に比べるとずいぶん進化しています。歯科医師は、技術屋さんの一面を持っているため、基本は変わらないとは思います。でも、材料の変化やそれに伴う細かい技術の変化には、ついて行く必要があると思います。
それを、同じ目的のもとで切磋琢磨する仲間と討論でき、情報を得ることができることと言うのは、やはり臨床で生きてくるはずだと信じています。

でも、そうやって進んで行けるのは、患者さんがあってこそ。人の体を触る仕事をしている以上、大きな責任も伴っているし、より確実に、安心して治療を提供していく為にも、感謝の気持ちを忘れずに、進んで行きたいなと思います。

I recently visited some family in Mcalester Oklahoma and had the good luck of finding the Hiway Inn off of the George Nigh expressway. I am glad I did because to date it has been the best hotel stay in Mcalester. I highly recommend it to anyone planning on staying in the Oklahoma area.
